In the not-too-distant future, a legendary kung fu master dies under mysterious circumstances. During the funeral, his training hall is ransacked, and a lifetime of teachings stolen! Now his estranged former students must band together, to recover the secrets their teacher shared – and uncover the ones he kept hidden.

Client Narjes Ruyan came to me with this story in its script-development phase. It was already incredibly strong work, and I helped her strengthen this wild, genre-bending tale further, by streamlining it and paring some plot elements down to their emotional beats.

I also assembled the team and oversaw production from start to finish. Narjes is a Middle-Eastern comics creator and planned to distribute this comic in her country of residence, so one small but important part of this process was ensuring that the art did not violate local content laws.

Finally, I even put my own lettering and design skills to work by developing B and C covers with our existing assets, producing two new covers at minimal cost to the client.
