As a comics editor, sometimes you work only on the script, providing notes and whipping it into shape, before the writer takes it off to the artist, and your work is done.

And sometimes, it’s the exact opposite.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with talented writer Steve Urena for several years over multiple projects, and each time, he brings me a completed, locked-in and very good script. At which point I discuss what art style Steve has in mind, hire the team and oversee production—ocassionally providing editorial notes on the art, colors and lettering, though it’s not my primary role—before delivering final, print-ready files of some truly fun comics.
